About AHG
The Association for the History of Glass Limited (AHG) is an Educational Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee.
The Association’s objectives are to advance public education, knowledge and interest in the historical, archaeological, aesthetic and technological study of glass of all periods and all parts of the world by archaeological, historical and scientific research, connoisseurship, conservation, exhibitions, experiments and other means.
It publishes a biannual newsletter Glass News and organizes Study Days each Spring and Autumn. These are normally held in London.
Origins of the Association
The AHG was originally set up to run the 8th Congress of l'Association Internationale pour l'Histoire du Verre (AIHV), which was held in London in 1979. It continues to act as the British National Committee of the AIHV, and in that capacity it hosted the 16th International Congress (known as "AIHV2003") which was held in London during September 2003.
Management of the AHG
The AHG is run by a Board of Directors consisting of three officers (President, Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer) and up to 20 other board members. The board members are elected by the Members of the Association and normally serve for 3 years unless re-elected. Members currently serving on the Board are shown in the following link.
Subscription
